Getting started with Label Wizard

Step 1: Install the app

Open Label Wizard in the Shopify App Store and choose Add app.
Approve the requested permissions for your store.
After install, Shopify opens the app in admin. You land on the Dashboard (the same home screen you get whenever you open Label Wizard from Apps).

Step 2: Use the Dashboard

The Dashboard is where you start. From here you can:

Start a new design (Design a label)
Open Your designs
Browse ready-made designs or start from a sheet or roll
Print labels for products

Step 3: Design your first label

Choose Design a label.
Pick how you want to start:

Browse ready-made designs — start from a sample layout
Start from a sheet or roll — match a manufacturer template (for example Avery or Online Labels)
Start from scratch — choose shape and size yourself

Add text, barcodes, or product fields as needed, then Save.

Step 4: Print labels

Open Print labels (from the navigation or from a saved design).
Select one or more products.
Set quantities if needed, then cho

Label Wizard on product and variant pages

Add the Label Wizard block

Open a product or variant page in Shopify admin.
In the Blocks section, choose Add block.
Add Label Wizard.

There is a product block and a variant block. Use the one that matches the page you are on.

What the block shows

If nothing has been printed yet for a multi-variant product, the product block may stay hidden until at least one variant has been printed.
For a single-variant product with no print yet, you can still pick a design and use Edit / Print.
After you print, a preview image of the last printed label appears.

Product block carousel

On a product with several printed variants, the block can show previous/next controls (for example Ice · 1 of 3). Only variants that have been printed appear in the carousel. Use the arrows to move between them.

Choose a design

The Design dropdown lists your saved designs. Edit and Print use the design you select. If you pick a different design than the one in the preview image, the preview hides until you select the last-printed design again (or print with the new design).

Edit opens the design in Label Wizard’s editor.
Print opens Print labels filtered to that product or variant.

Choose Settings in Label Wizard navigation.

Language

Use Language / Select language to change the app UI language for your session. Available languages depend on what Label Wizard ships.

Unit settings

Unit Settings control whether sizes are shown in mm, cm, or in. This affects design and template dimensions in the UI. Pick the unit you use when buying stock.

Print resolution

Print resolution sets the default DPI for printing: 203, 300, or 600. See Getting the best print quality.

Default print quantity

Default print quantity controls the starting quantity when you open Print labels:

You can always change quantities on the Print labels page. See Setting label quantities.

Account and billing

Settings also show account information such as Remaining Credits or cycle usage, plus Change plan / billing links when applicable. See Understanding plans and label credits.

Add a text box

Open your design in the editor.
Add a Text object from the toolbar.
Double-click or use the sidebar to edit the content.

Font, size, and style

In the sidebar you can typically change:

Font family
Font size
Bold, italic, and other style toggles
Text color
Shadow (when you want depth behind the text)

Rich text (mixed formatting)

Some text boxes support rich text, so part of a line can be bold or a different size while the rest stays normal. Select the characters you want to change before applying a style.

Product data inside text

You can insert product fields (title, price, SKU, and more) into text. See Showing product data on labels.

When a field is empty for a product, that part of the text can appear blank on the printed label — that is expected when the data is missing.

Tips for readable labels

Keep body text large enough for the physical label size.
Prefer high contrast (dark text on a light label).
Check the preview with a real variant before a large print run.

Select all products

Open Print labels and set any filters you need (location, search, product type).
Select at least one row, then choose Select all for all products matching the current filters (not only the current page).
The bulk Print action may read Print All.

Print All quantity step

When Select all is active (and you are not printing from an order), Print may ask for a quantity to apply across the filtered set before opening the sheet/roll picker. Confirm carefully — this can generate a large number of labels.

Order mode skips that “one quantity for everything” step because each line already has an ordered quantity.

Credits and large runs

Credits and usage are based on total labels printed. A full-catalog run can use many credits at once. Check your remaining credits or Pay As You Go usage before confirming. See Understanding plans and label credits.

Tips

Narrow with filters first if you only need one product type or location.
Spot-check quantities on a few rows before printing everything.
For a single product’s variants, prefer launching Print from that product instead of Select all.

Sheets (laser / inkjet)

Sheet stock is a page of peel-off labels (for example Avery or Online Labels). You print a full page (or part of a page) on a standard laser or inkjet printer.

Best when:

You already buy brand-name sheets
You print small batches on an office printer
You need exact alignment to a published template

Use Sheets and rolls in Label Wizard to find a matching template, or create a custom sheet template.

Rolls (thermal)

Roll labels feed through a thermal label printer (Zebra, Rollo, DYMO-style devices, and similar). Labels usually come one-wide on the roll.

Best when:

You print shipping or warehouse labels often
You want one label at a time without cutting sheets

In Print labels, look for roll and continuous-feed options under manufacturers such as Continuous Feed.

Continuous feed

Continuous feed stock is a long strip without fixed page breaks. Label Wizard treats continuous designs differently from multi-label sheets so your print layout matches the printer.
