Understanding plans and label credits
Plans at a glance
Label Wizard offers several plans. Names you may see in the app include:
- Free and Standard — include a pool of print credits
- Pay As You Go — usage is billed through Shopify each cycle
- Unlimited — uncapped label printing (no local credit balance)
Your current plan and usage appear in Settings and in the Print labels title area when you are on a metered plan.
What counts as a label generation
Credits and usage are based on how many labels you print, not how many products you select or how many designs you save.
Example: if you print 3 labels for one product and 2 for another in the same run, that counts as 5 labels.
Print credits (Free and Standard)
On Free and Standard plans, Label Wizard tracks a local print credit balance.
- Printing uses credits equal to the number of labels generated.
- If you do not have enough credits, the app shows an Insufficient credits message and asks you to upgrade or change your plan.
- When credits are low, the Dashboard may show Running low on print credits.
Creating and editing designs is separate from printing. Printing is what uses credits.
Pay As You Go and Unlimited
- Pay As You Go meters label generations to Shopify. You may see Label Generations this cycle in the app.
- Unlimited does not use a local credit balance. Label printing is uncapped under that plan’s terms.
Changing your plan
- Open Plans (or Change plan from Settings).
- Review Current Plan and available options.
- Use Manage your subscription when Shopify billing applies to your plan.
